Kimberlea is currently in her 23rd year of service in the Australian Army.  She is a veteran of East Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan and is a graduate of the Australian Command and Staff College. She is currently working as the Deputy Chief of Staff within Army Headquarters.

 

Her Army service included a two year tenure as the Commanding Officer of the 39th Operational Support Battalion. The unit's lineage can be traced back to the 39th Australian Infantry Battalion, who are the only unit to have Kokoda listed as one of their Battle Honours.

 

Her tenure coincided with the 75th anniversary of the actions of the 39th Battalion in Papua New Guinea and she had the privilege to accompany men and women of the unit across the Kokoda Trail.

She was appointed as a Director of Network Kokoda in August 2019.
