PNG VS NSW Kokoda Cup
Fantastic success for all involved and plans are already under way for another event, future competition and coaching support between NSW & PNG!
The Kokoda Cup Tournament is the inaugural contest between PNG & NSW for the Kokoda Cup.
This year the money raised is being used to fund the PNG boxing teams Commonwealth Games campaign.
NSW narrowly came through as victors 7-5 bouts. The PNG team, especially the Commonwealth Games athletes all had very good victories so things are on track for a good showing on the Gold Coast next month.
It was also a fantastic opportunity to showcase the PNG team to prospective sponsors.
Network Kokoda has been instrumental in forming the partnership between the two boxing associations through my involvement with both, we have also been able to open some doors in regards to sponsorship and on going support for these young PNG athletes through our Network.
